If you all want all four PAX to be on the ONE booking then get 1 x "4 Person" Voucher.

You could purchase 4 x "1 Person" Vouchers and make 4 separate bookings, then have them TCP'ed. (But you run the risk of being split up, even with the linking.)

I believe this is the answer.

If there are 4 of you travelling and you want say $200 per person, then you buy a single voucher and specify 4 pax @ $200 each.

If you all want all four PAX to be on the ONE booking then get 1 x "4 Person" Voucher.

You could purchase 4 x "1 Person" Vouchers and make 4 separate bookings, then have them TCP'ed. (But you run the risk of being split up, even with the linking.)

Thanks guys

That sort of blows that idea, as I'm not sure how were travelling yet, points or cash. I don't want to stuck with a 4x person voucher and award flights. Well at least I have a week to nut it out. decisions, decisions.

Yes, the issue is the voucher and people named have a reservation id, and that stays the same when it becomes ticketed and paid for. There's no way to change the passengers booked once the voucher/reservation id has been created.

You can see why they therefore allowed you to book multiple people on the one voucher but it means a lot of flexibility is lost (instead of if you could just pay for a separate booking id with vouchers, which would make everything much more flexible).

If you had a $500 voucher and you wanted to use it for travel to NZ for 2 people on the same PNR would that work?

I wonder if QF really intended to teach folk how to avoid the CC fee

This whole thing just proves to me there is no need for cc fee in the first place, not that we didn't know already...

Can I just confirm that you can only use one voucher per booking? The T&C doesn't really say you can't. If my base fare is $110, can I use 2 $50 vouchers, assuming the number of passenger is the same on the voucher and on the booking?

Lastly, this includes JetConnect flights as long as it's ex-Australia, right?

Bummer, need just 4000 points more to book 2 JASA to US for Aug/Sept 2012 (192K points each)but they are disappearing, will have enough by next Mon. anyway, looks like a phone call to QFF. I'll buy a $500 for me & Mrs Lime in mean time for the extra points.

Re: Join Qantas Club and get 40,000 bonus points

Just be careful of the following conditions:

1. can only use 1 voucher per booking
2. voucher only applies to base fare and not the taxes which must be paid for separately to the voucher
3. voucher can only be used once and any remaining value is forfeited
4. 12 month validity.

its not as rosy as it seems but if you can make it work for you, then you're onto a good thing.

If booking a return you can only use one? or you have to book separately to and fro then can use two but then its not departing Australia ?

Domestically you can book 2 one ways and use a voucher for each, keeping in mind the value of the base fare. Internationally it wouldn't work as one ways are outrageously expensive and as you stated the return would not depart Australia.

The clincher for me is not being able to apply the total value to te total fare, but others may not be so averse to such restrictions.

How does the GST on the fare booked with a voucher work? I'm thinking of buying vouchers to cover business travel next year. Will I get the usual "tax invoice" for the whole fare when I use a voucher? If not, I won't be able to get the GST credit that normally applies for a business expense.

You should get a tax invoice when you book the flight showing the GST, so no issue.

Oneway: within or from Oz;

Return: within or from Oz & returning to Oz.

So, my questions (possibly stupid ones) are.....when it says that it cant be used for a multi city, does that mean I cant use it for a Mel-BKK return flight that forces me to go via Sydney (on two separate flight numbers)? And, can the voucher be used if one of the legs (ie the return leg) does not originate in Australia?

By multicity it means booking done using the multicity booking tool and yes it can be used for a return trip OS in the one booking.
