Just an early dining suggestion for Adelaide on the Saturday night. Gaucho's Argentinian restaurant has been recommended to me by locals and visitors alike. I did not manage to get there this trip but just an option... BTW it is (unsurprisingly) a steak place.

Great suggestion, and I got hungry just reading the menu.

Being a Saturday night & lots of Christmas parties are likely to be on, I rang Gaucho's and secured a reservation for us, to keep this as an option. They are open till late, are 500m from the Hilton & a short cab ride from the CP.

I'm happy to go with this.

.... or most other options :!:

And now it is less than 14 days away. This means the platinum members at least can select seats.

I've got a good seat on the MEL-CBR leg.

Being a Virgin virgin, I'm not entirely familiar with good seats vs. bad. I've selected on all flights (think I'm on a different MEL-CBR than you). In all cases could not select exit row, but selected the first 'C' seat in economy. :)

I'm going to look at this first thing in the morning.

Row 3 is the best (usually). So you're the reason I couldn't select my preferred seat (3C) on a couple of flights :D :D Anyway, I'm all seated now.

:oops::oops: It just might be me. ;) - at least on 436. I think I'm in 2C on 655.

Don't forget the best seats in the ATR are the rear ones, since they board from the rear and also serve from the rear.

17A here for the ATR , Bets being placed on whether I get bumped for a platinum LOL.
3A on all others. Wonder if they do some upgrades here, and also looking forward to what will be the last ERJ170 flight I take on Virgin, from MEL-CBR.

Hi All ,

I must have been hiding under a rock to miss this thread . So annoyed. It would have been great to jump on board to meet everyone & with the current double SC offer would have kicked me up to Gold . But as I have until May 2012 to click over to Gold & taking into account current $$ for each sector , its hard to justify doing the trip . I look fwd to jumping on early, any future runs . Have an awesome day & look fwd to seeing a report.

I'm on different flights to everyone else, with the exception of SYD-ADL. I managed to snag my favourite seat (3D) on all three flights so I was quite happy with that.

With all the positive reviews of the ATR I'm a little disappointed I left the CBR-SYD leg out of my itinerary. It's a good looking plane.

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

The things you learn (thx for posting)!

15C for me now. 17C was available but had that 'all pax please grab me for stability on the way through to your seat' look about it...discretion the better part of valour here. :)

Just over a week to go. I'll be joining you all at The Lounge in MEL, is there a secret handshake or anything that I should know about??

I'd suggest to look for the big group. As some know each other already and will be meeting in BNE, I'm guessing it will just grow naturally.

Does anyone know if DJ actually know we're coming
