Anyone Interested in a DYKWIA meet up?

If you are anything like me you ensure your oversize WP tag, you know the one you coloured in black to make it look like a CL one, hangs down from the overhead locker, your BP sticks out of your top pocket with the word "Platinum" clearly visible, and when you are in seat 4C on a 737 you make sure you hand your jacket to the J FA to hang up before being asked.

We DYKWIA's are a much maligned group here on AFF and I wondered if we should have our own get together. We could see who can talk the loudest on our mobile phones whist dining, and play celebrity namedropping. It will be fun to swap horror stories of having to sit in J outside of "Emerald City" on an A380, or my own particular pet peeve the lack of grovelling recognition of my status by the CSM.

I can see some potential logistical issues, the need to meet in a very exclusive environment might exclude most from attending, and obviously the fear of being out DYKWIA'd might prevent many attending.

I thought I'd throw it open to suggestions about a potential meet and what we could get up to.

Tony, you aren't a woman are you?

I just passed a lady who had a plastic name tag holder, and inside it was her Platinum FF Card, which was pinned to the top of her shirt. Biggest DYKWIA I've ever seen.

But, whatever you are planning. Count me in, I have been known to drop names at lounges in order to get food that was stopped being served at 1100, at 12:30. Not to mention standing at a gate saying I'm platinum, where is Priority Boarding, loud enough, so everybody around me can hear.

DYKWIA meet up? Sure. But we would have a problem, if we were to meet up in a exclusive location, the very fact there is mutiple DYKWIAs in attendance means that sed location nolonger becomes exclusive.

No, not a woman, I think if I was I would probably be a one of loose morals and probably unlikely to be a DYKWIA. It sounds like the lady you saw would fit right into a DYKWIA meet up though.

You have spotted the flaw in my plan. In order to retain exclusivity the meet up might have to be a series of meet ups with just one attendee at each. :shock:

Im in, and I have a solution. Each have a tee shirt with DYKWIA on the front, and "if you don't, you better learn real fast..." on the back, then problem solved, each will know that they are truly the DYKWIA Prophet (basing the fact everyone wants to know who they are) therefore can only be the true DYKWIA.

@nlagalle - can you print up some golf shirts? (Armani or Versace of course!)
 
If you knew who I am then you most probably wouldn't want me at one of these events...... :cool:

To quote Groucho .. "I wouldn't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member." :lol:

Your NCGI bag tags (With the obvious coloured in black marker to look like CL) may have been worn as earings. :p
 
In the absence of any sensible suggestions for location and time I have opted, in my typical DYKWIA style :cool:, for October 19th 2011, in the F section of QF10, although we could dine in the QF/BA F restaurant in LHR T3 beforehand. This will give an air of exclusivity that could have been lacking. I'd like to kick things off by making a complaint, loudly, about the wine list, whilst brandishing my enhanced (Platinum red and emboldened) boarding card and then we can take it from there. :)

I have proposed myself for chairman of the group and shortly afterwards voted myself unanimously into this role. After all DYKWIA? :p
