I noticed there is a lack of photos on the net for the Club in Sydney, so I thought I would post a couple here. Priority Club Royal Ambassadors get upgraded to either a Suite or Club access and I always take the club option, IMHO it has to be one of the best located lounges as far as the view goes, something worth getting up early for is the sunrise! I hope the photos are useful if you are contemplating a stay and looking at the extra $$$ for a club room.

Yes agree Markis10, one of my global favorites. Always check in up at the club and stay for breakfast!I was told they don't automatically grant access if you are RA. Some of their managers can be quite snooty, IMHO. But a great business hotel indeed. And well located

Thanks for posting those photos Markis10. I love to know where there is a good hotel club lounge. Would also be good to know what the food and beverage options are like.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

There is a good range, however right in the middle of some of australias best resturants and cafes (cafe sydney being one) good concierge will point you in the right direction.

Wow, impressive view. Looking forward to seeing it in late July.

I really should strive for RA. I would easily qualify based on stays, but I lack the IC paid stays... (Usually out of my preferred price range).

Great views and thanks for posting, I had never considered this hotel before but will definitely check it out now :)

Very nice place....and to think I just do the smorgasbord with that 50% off card!

Thanks for the pics. Might need a weekend down here to get some bennies from my Ambassador status. Status didn't do much for our stay in Singapore in May, apart from late checkout.

I wouldn't book a room without access to the club lounge at this hotel.
We were there last month and will be staying again in October and December.

As an Ambassador if you book the lowest category of room (city side) you get a guaranteed upgrade to a deluxe eastern harbour view which gives decent views over the Botanical Gardens, Woolloomooloo and to the Heads in the distance.

Oh, to be RA!!!
I can only dream ...

We always stay there when we are in town as the view from the club lounge is fabulous.

Still, if you have 90k points+$180, you can book a $750/night room for three nights... Don't know if the Ambassador upgrade (to Deluxe Eastern Harbour) is guaranteed on Reward nights.

Hi Markis10, Best wishes. I believe a certain BNE based vfp(tm) (Very Frequent Poster) was sitting in that exact seat 3 hours prior! Thanks for kindly starting this thread - I usually look at hotel info on another well known travel website. John

Well, I recently looked into NYE 2012, and guess how much this year ??

Min. three night stay at $1,600. per night = $4,800. to get yourself into a Club Lounge room for NYE 2012 !!!

... and I was told by Sydney IC staff, that RA privileges DO NOT apply !!! ( Eg. no upgrade to Club Room )

ps. We're going to Wellington IC for NYE ... cost for four nights = just on $AUS600. for Club Lounge king room. ( AMB free weekend night + PP BOGOF ) May be even cheaper, when RA status gets approved ( which cost me a total of $AUS314. to 'acquire' )

Just waiting to see what best airfare is ...

GORDO

Actually, our Wellington NYE stay the IC is now going be about $AU380. for four nights in a Club Intercontinental room !! ( after price reduction for RA - may even get a further upgrade since I booked the Club room ... nahhh! I'm just hoping the minibar will be fully re-stocked EVERY day !! )
Shame there's no low airfares from QANTAS. Don't fancy more than an hour at a time on Jetstar flights.
