News just stated the terminal has been evacuated and arriving aircraft are circling.

I believe the leak was as the result of a demolition contractor cutting through the gas main whilst working on the removal of the old Qantas terminal. The new terminal wasn't directly affected as the gas was shut off almost immediately but it was evacuated anyway for precautionary reasons.

Flew out of CBR at 4pm this afternoon (haven't seen the QF J Lounge that busy before!). The last delayed QantasLink flights left around 4pm but all QF jet were running on time (actually running early - must be everyone trying to get out of CBR).
DJ didn't fair so well with some delays running into the evening. Amazing how one incident like that can have a domino effect.
