I have to think about how to answer this question - how about similar but different

This happened to me once, their connection to EDR was down so it gave me the 4c a litre discount at the station on the spot and a few days later the points came through.

From my understanding, if the system is "down" then you will always be given the 4 cents discount. this is also the case if you have chosen to convert to points or if you do not have a fuel voucher loaded / available on your account...

I have been given fuel discounts on my card even though there was no vouchers available on my card, the transaction took longer than usual, this is why I suspect the system was down and "defaulted" to giving the discount irrespective of if one was available or not.

If the connection is down, how does it log the awarding of points?

Their system seems to have a temporary store for transactions that get reconciled after a few days. When the points came in, the first transaction I did the operator said no discount voucher, thinking I used the wrong card I bolted out to get the other one. The transaction was done again, same result so I used the original card, end result was two of the vouchers were used, but one reappeared after two days, it's probably at that 48 hour mark where the systems checks.

Oh I do wish QLD allowed liquor stores to be part of the supermarket :p

I don't know why they aren't already combined. Pretty much, "THE REST OF THE WORLD HAS BOTH IN ONE". Makes shopping so much easier. I think it's the civil libertarians (or some other group) putting up a fight or something along those lines.

WA is the same. Although many Woolies have their liquor stores side by side with the actual supermarket, they are supposed to be separate entities:rolleyes:

Yep, NSW and WA have them side-by-side, or you can access a Liquor Land internally through a Woolies.
I still remember shopping in Berlin, there were soft drinks in one aisle and "crates of beer" in the next. :) NZ is similar, as Sam mentioned.

l might be mistaken (I have known to be on multiple occasions ;) ). Someone will point it out soon enough l think. I was just using it as an example that, yes, you can go from one into the other internally, but booze isn't for sale in the one and same shop.

QLD has different licensing laws where the shops have to operate in association with a pub. That's why Woolies own lots of qld pubs. I would also say that the situation in qld with bottleos and supermarkets is due to the national party. I recall Joh being very anti willy nilly purchasing of booze.

Strangest place I ever purchased booze was in a petrol station in WA. It was very convenient as work would pay for my petrol but not my booze. ;)

Same for me, although it was a service station in the UK. "Pump number 4 and a bottle of Jack Daniels please"

Liquorland is owned by Wesfarmers - so I would be surprised if you could go from "Woolworths" to "Liquorland"

In Cairns, Woolworths made a great play and managed to get a "BWS" bottleshop directly outside the new Coles store in Stockland. Great move by Woolworths, but complete stupidity from Coles.

As for the licensing system in QLD - from an insiders point of view i think its good, 3 detached stores within 10km driving distance - ive been on some of the trips when management have measured the distance to new stores, managed to find a few streets i didnt even know existed

No points today come across from EDR, maybe all the execs were too busy at the GP ;).

They were quick to pay the shop at 3 different partners bonus in this quarter, 700 points came through overnight.

Still awaiting here - did get the 100 pt Easter Egg offer posted already.

Just completed a coffee purchase for bonus points. Luckily my favourite coffee was on sale this week. Got home with 2 tins and found there was already 4 tins in the pantry . Oh well, at least I am well sticked for a while. Better up the coffee consumption from 1 cup each morning to something more substantial.

Got the offer of 150 bonus points when I buy any three SELECT branded products in one transaction.
So far this week I've been stocking up on tins of Diced Tomatoes at $1.19 each.

That's $3.57 for 150 bonus points. I think I must have about 900 points so far this week and I still have today and tomorrow to go!
