Does anyone know how I could swap 100,000 miles from Virgin Atlantic Flying Club to Velocity? I have looked at the Hilton Honnors route and that is a joke.

I do not have an Amex card so that is out. Are there any other creative ways of doing it?

Thanks

Clearly it cant be done.

And I dont like my chances of getting an award with VS. Their "taxes" are the same price as a ticket nearly???

It all depends on where you are going and what airlines you book with.

In general the highest component cost for LHR flights (in and out) is the APD.

To give some perspective, I burned 50k points for a one-way LHR-HKG flight in late 2009 in Upper Class. These were VS Flying Club points and on a VS flight. Taxes/fees/charges component was GBP 230 or so; at that point in time, the exchange rate was 1 AUD = 0.55 GBP or so.

Of course, things may have changed quite a bit now (I think the APD might have increased in price; then there is the price of fuel to think about).
