Would you recommend (on QF) travelling from Perth to Toronto via Los Angeles or London, including in terms of convenience, travel time, SC and points?

Cheers,

J

Marginally quicker (approx 2 hours) going via the East Coast (SYD,MEL,BNE), likewise fares are cheaper.
Haven't checked the flyer points but going via SIN/LHR would probably garner more points/sc

via SIN in Y gives you 180 SC's and in J 720 via SYD and LAX Y 160 J 680

Any trip avoiding LAX is a plus for me and if the fares are not prohibitive I would go west :D

I'm not a fan of CX seats at this point, but CX PER HKG YYZ (if using J) would be my choice. Haven't checked the price differences.

I have done it via SIN-LHR.

No.
I would fly Emirates.
It will be quicker, cheaper, one-stop and you get to fly DXB-YYZ on the A380.
Credit to Skywards or Velocity (for a limited time at least)

Depends on what is important to you really? Seating, points or schedule? SC would depend on what Alliance, as pointed out EK is a viable option as well.

Perth can be problematic at times I have found in terms of Schedule

You could also SQ to Newark the hop across, the SQ seats are 'better' IMHO. Pricier alternative I would imagine, though not important if you are in minerals.

Totally agree with this post. I did the Perth - Toronto in December then back in January. Emirates were great, only two flights the A380 on the 2nd leg is great, no domestic legs and very cheap. You also get 2 x 23kg bags to check in.
