OK here is my dilemma, we have previously used EK mixed fares. but they are now $6200 to Newcastle UK (NCL). My usual TA has moved interstate, so I must find a new one, as I am no impressed with her replacement.
My question for everybody, I would like to go premium economy, or may be cheap business with an Asian airline. I've looked at Air France, but have been told that they are not worth the money. Is Etihad economy any good, what is EVA airlines, and the other Asian airlines ( Vietnam Airlines) like.
Should I go thru a TA, or direct thru a airline website. I check out Best flights and Flight centre, are they any good.

ALWAYS book via the airline's website, dont be dragged in by bright in your face websites like Bestflights trying to milk a booking fee out of you.

In fact, I usually use Bestflights too suss out deals as they are very quick to update/advertise new sales, and then go and book via the carriers website.

My Mum has flown Etihad Economy between Melbourne and Manchester 3 times in the past 12 months and cannot speak highly enough of them.

Comparatively, their pricing to Manchester has been superior to Qantas/BA, Singapore, Malaysian & Emirates.

I am happy to recommend a TA in mel but for a simple return trip, it's often easier just to do directly on the airline web or call centre.

I have WebJet send me the best price of the day on a few routes. You can set it up for about 5 sectors, different classes.

I would have thought Malaysian would have been very competitive.

I like to deal direct with the airline ONCE I know what I want, where and at what price.

Not always true. Sometimes Expedia, Zuji, webjet, travel.com.au have cheaper airfares than what is available on airline websites.

Best to always check what is around before committing to making the booking.
