Hi all,

Wondering if someone knows?

If I was to travel to LAX business class via Qantas. Then on a different ticket but same day fly on to Seattle with AA (economy) what would be the chance of using their lounge while waiting for flight? IE say I am in transit and show business class ticket.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to AFF!

Your next onward flight generally needs to be in the class of lounge you’d like to enter, not the preceding flight. I think you’d be out of luck.

No luck as AA flights from LAX to SEA are codeshare on AS departing from T3. Unless having AS Boardroom membership or onward J/F ticket I don't believe you will have access.

When I flew on an AS flight from T3 in Oct last year, there was a sign on the AS boardroom that QP members could enter when flying AS.
As a QP member, I could not get in to the boardroom at SEA (although I made it in as I was flying F).

The hard-and-fast rule is that QP members have access to the AS BR's when flying on a QF code.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that people get in on the AS code sometimes.

It never hurts to ask politely and see. The worst that can happen is you are sent back downstairs to the horror that is T3 :)

I thought you could buy a day pass to the Boardroom anyway, so if you really wanted to be in there you could do that?

I didn't know that :)
