QF 6713 T2 today

Hi everyone,

out of interest is someone about to shed some light on QF 6713 that flew of out Syd T2 this afternoon (15:35) to MQL?

I noticed it whilst I was waiting for my flight with Rex to TRO, which was so disorganised (opps we bussed you to the wrong plane...opps we didn't put in enough fuel...) that I will never be critical of QLink again....


It got me thinking - wouldn't it be great if QF(Link) introduced a few special location or seasonal flights from time to time?

Probably just a charter. Our company has done that before when we had about 60 people flying to DPO. Got a q400 with a special number just for us!

QFlink are too busy at the moment with holiday traffic for special location flights... They are flying up to 7 flights a day into LST (normally 3)....!

Though I agree it would be great. As the next gen q400s arrive next year expect to see more new routes open up!

The QF6xx_ numbers can be for a range of flights, such as delivery flights, flights going into AVV for maintenance and ferry flights. The performance of some of the ferry flights out of PER seem to be pretty impressive.

Didn't Rex use to operate SYD-MQL?

Certainly don't know of any regular QFLink service SYD - MQL and can't remember REX having one although that doesn't mean that they didn't. Many flights to country areas from SYD were in disarray yesterday because of bad weather - especially to the far north coast of NSW. Is that what caused your SYD - TRO problems? or just REX?

Thanks everyone - knew people on here would know what this flight was about - my curiosity can get me to the stage that I cannot cope if I cannot find a answer. Maybe explains why I became a scientist

Many flights to country areas from SYD were in disarray yesterday because of bad weather - especially to the far north coast of NSW. Is that what caused your SYD - TRO problems? or just REX?

My flight was called on time, but from there it was all a bit average - with only one bus boarding at a time at gate 45 and three called at once it caused chaos amongst pax, in particular those more mature - these things happen. But once our bus arrived, we then went on a bus tour of Sydney airport trying to find which Rex plane were were suppose to be on (at least the pax were having a good laugh). After finally getting seated on the correct plane (we nearly got onto the Ballina-bound plane!) a call was made to unbuckle, as they needed to get the fuel truck back out as the plane didn't have enough fuel!

Once we were up and away, the crew member was great, as I have always experienced with Rex. As with a number of recent flight experiences, it appears they are really struggling at T2 SYD airport - the crew member suggested 'they are trying to push us out' ? Lets hope that doesn't happen!

Hear!! Hear!! I am flying to the US next year for my son's wedding and REX is the only connection from BNK that gets me in in time for an 18:30 departure to HNL. I would have time to make it from Bankstown to the International Terminal but on the way back I only have two and three quarter hours between touchdown from HNL to departure from T2 to BNK - can't be done from Bankstown!
