Currently sitting in the Qantas Business Lounge eating my turkey open sandwich with a metal knife:p!

Lately I have found that Qantas are just about the only airline left handing out plastic knives. Even AA had metal knives during my flight with them last month. Why is it so different, every country has their own rules

My understanding is that the rules changed in Australia only relatively recently. QF then needed to use existing stock and have new stock manufactured.

Places like HKG and SIN and airlines transiting through them to Oz were required to also use plastic cutlery to allow them to fly on to Oz.

I had plastic cutlery in J on QF on Saturday followed by metal on 9W after a very brief transit in SIN.

I am looking forward to trying out the new lounge offerings next week :)

Has anyone seen the new shallow spoons in the SYD Business Lounge? What a horrible design!

I really struggled to eat using the new spoons. Unless you use a knife or fork with the new spoons it is almost impossible to eat with them.

I shall check them out in the MEL J lounge, if they have them, next week.

Flew J from Brisbane to Melbourne yesterday and had lunch with a metal knife !!!...The FA said it was the first day she had seen them offered and the lunch menu was also new and tasty...pity the Penfolds Kalimna wasnt up to scratch !!!

They obviously have a large stock of the plastic ones as the QP's still have them. Or maybe us low SG's are more dangerous ;):D

Maybe they don't want SG's knifing the WP's who elbow them out of the way when asserting the right to priority boarding.

Was in the new Canberra Business Lounge yesterday-still plastic knives.
