In November I'm travelling Economy on QF93 to LAX and have a 4.5 hour layover before continuing to SF on AA. I was wondering if LAX has any shower facilities that can be used for a fee. I have searched LAX and other websites and there don't appear to be any except for the airline lounges. One forum suggested getting a single-day pass at one of the surrounding health clubs but I prefer to remain at the airport.

If you don't have Qantas Club membership (which will get you access), your best option might be to purchase a $50 day pass to the American Airlines Admiral's Club.

The showers in there are fantastic - certainly a life saver after having flown across the Pacific.

Thanks for the replies.

Not a member of QC. Am travelling on Sunday 14/11. I'll keep both suggestions in mind. Thanks again for the helpful info.

Could I just piggyback on this thread with a similar question?
We are flying (QF) into LAX on Friday morning, early. To save some $ we did not book a hotel room for Thursday night. Check in time at our hotel is not till 5pm, so we could really do with a shower, too.
Hubby is platinum ff, but I guess thats no use after we get off the plane?

Unfortunately not. You won't be able to go airside again without an outbound boarding pass and AFAIK there isn't a Oneworld/AA/QF arrivals lounge in LAX.

Two things I would do:
1) Note on your hotel reservation what your arrival time is.
2) Go to the hotel when you arrive and see if your room is ready.

I've checked into hotels as early as 7am and my room has always been ready. The only time it wasn't was at a Sydney hotel during the Christmas peak as they were sold out the night before (housekeeping was cleaning my room as I arrived, so I took a seat in the lobby for a few minutes).

Some hotels will even let you use the showers in the fitness centre (assuming they have them) if your room is not quite ready yet.
