Can anyone tell me the length of time of this stopover? Do passengers get off the plane of is it just a refuelling/ boardning stop for Auckland passengers?
Thanks in advance,
Kinka

While I haven't flown all the way to SCL, I recall everyone getting off + there is a 90 minute change over. You arrive around 3:10pm and depart AKL about 4:40 - if LAN is on time for once. Looking at <1hr off the plane so enough to do airside if without lounge access.

LA800 departs SYD at 9:55am and arrived into AKL at 3:10p. It hen departs AKL at 4:40pm and arrives into SCL at 12:10pm. These are standard times and may vary after daylight saving times commence in each location.

Passengers will be allowed to deplane at AKL. I am not sure if passengers are given the choice to remain on board, but I would certainly be looking to get up and walk around the terminal for the short transit.

I flew this one last year and will be doing again in November.

Joshua is correct. The terminal is smallish but there is stuff to look at and/or buy (especially if you're into wool! :p)

If you don't have lounge access and need currency exchanged (from what I recall) Travelex charge a $5.00 fee, so either use an ATM or have some NZ money with you.

Everyone has to get off....not sure why you would want to stay onboard anyway, as the next leg is a pretty long one:shock:
