Passengers speed down Changi Airport's Slide@T3 | News.com.au

SINGAPORE'S Changi Airport has erected the country's biggest slide to relieve bored passengers waiting for their flights.

Standing 12m, the Slide@T3 can shoot passengers down its jumbo twister slide at almost 6m per second.

The slide is located at the airports Terminal 3 Arrival Hall and costs $25 for two rides.

The slide is the latest edition to the award-winning Changi Airport.

I think $25 is a bit much, it should be free!

I must admit $25 does sound a bit much, and that’s still AUD$20, for a short spiral slide, that would be free in most playgrounds…

Hmmm. It is located in T3 Arrival Hall but is meant for bored passengers waiting for their flights? Now how many passengers wait for their flights in an arrival hall?

Not sure I would want to go on a spiral slide after a long flight and don't think it would be an ideal way to relax before a flight either.

And SGD25 sounds a little too much although I am sure the slide will keep some people amused.

This attraction is not targetted at passengers. It is specifically targetted at Singaporeans, and something to encourage them to shop at T3 shops. Changi is a destination in its own right for locals. And whilst nonews has done the calculation for you ($25 = AUD) , it is $30 SGD, typically their reporting has not reflected the true nature of this cost. It is $30 spent in retail outlets to buy something, NOT just $30 spent to visit the slide itself:

For every $30 spent at Changi Airport in a single receipt, members of the public can redeem two tokens to ride the 12 metre slide* located at Terminal 3, Arrival Hall (Level 1), Public Area

If you'r bored I recommend the indoor go-kart track in T3 as well!

Are they trying it out as a potential way to speed up boarding?
