The International Air Services Commission (IASC) has advised recent applications by Qantas and Strategic Airlines for additional Australia to Indonesia capacity “has created a contested situation”.



“Qantas and Strategic Airlines have together sought more than the available capacity,” the IASC said.


Days after Qantas applied for an allocation of 3,898 seats per week on the Indonesian route, Strategic approached IASC seeking 1,716 seats per week on the same route.

I wonder if this is just reflecting QF's desire to upgrade aircraft or actually more physical flights / destinations....?
 
Interesting to see how they go here, wonder if a split of capacity will happen and one or both will throw the dummy out of the cot....

Its more interesting to see what happens with the ADF contract, having an A330 sitting around is not a cheap exercise, and there does seem to be some smoke in terms of the tender process and the winning bidder having some unfair help? Compass Mk3 or am I being unkind?

The 330 seems to spend a lot of time parked at BNE......
