Cancel upgrade request for chance of an op-up, should I risk it?

Sounds good.

The flight has continued its trend, but now W has joined the pact - both W and Y have been opening up each morning and then disappearing in the afternoon while maintaining availability in the higher cabins:
F9 A9 J9 C0 D0 I0 W2 R0 T0 Y0 B0 H0 K0 M0 L0 VC SC NC QC OC XC E0

I'm also getting "Your flight is not eligible for seat selection" if I try to use "Select Seats" now. I guess I'll find out on Sunday :)

It's almost a pity that it's not like that when I return on the 25th, as I'll be WP then :)

How'd you go? Did you end up getting the op-up?

Unfortunately not - F, J and W ended up being totally full. There were a large number of WPs in W though based on the luggage tags.

Not sure how Y was.

In any case, 38K was a great seat and service on board was just as exceptional as my last premium economy flight on the A380.

Anyway, I've now checked in for the flight that takes me to WP for the first time (LAX-AUS) so I'm going to go ahead and update my profile :)

Oh well!

Congrats on making WP! :p

It's happened again on my return trip (booked in R like last time):

Time will tell. At least I'm a WP now :-)

No op up, but according to one of the FAs in my cabin the plane was completely full in all classes.

Had a fantastic flight anyway, and there was a noticeable increase in service as WP - just little things like the introduction and 'welcome back' from the CSM, taking my dinner order first so that my choice was available, etc.

Op ups dont happen to WP on too regular a basis, the Op Up thread would be a lot bigger if that was the case, but they do seem to be happening a lot more these days than 5 years ago. Enjoy being a WP and when you next leave CBR, remember to turn right at the top of the escalator not left to get access to the lounge ;).

Yeah I know, it's just that the availability on the flight seemed to match 'trends' that I've seen mentioned on forums in the past where they do become more common and 99% of my travel is domestic so it can't hurt to get a little bit excited :)

Enjoying it already - it was so much nicer in LAX being directed to the F lounge rather than the standard Admirals Club in T4 (it's a pity about the lounge in TBIT though; the only good thing about that lounge is the Tattinger). Can't wait until I need to fly internationally out of SYD/MEL again to try the F lounge there :)

Already familiar with the business lounge in CBR - it's just a pity about the view (if I'm not going to eat/drink I'll probably still go into the QP as I like watching the tarmac) ;)

Congrats on making WP! :p

Thanks :)
