Just like to get some feedback, about this..

My friend had booked a one way fare to KIX from OOL next week,(a discounted fare $249) and out of the blue he had a call from JQ this afternoon offering him an upgrade to *class on his flight for $199!! plus all the pts etc and GC JQ lounge. Has anyone heard about this before? He took it up and got the new ticket emailed soon after. \So his oneway fare in *class is costing around $473 in *class! :p:p

I haven't specifically heard of it with JQ, but I've received a few of those types of calls flying QF...

All I can say is tell your friend to enjoy the out of the blue upgrades. They don't seem to come around all that oftan... :)

I've done * class on that route. We did a paid upgrade at the counter (from memory it was 250-300 on top of an uber discount ticket) on departure. Personally I'd pay it if you can. It's very good value. Star class is not the greatest but it's waaay above the generic J* Y service.
