hi,am wondering if anyone has suggestions for a seat row number,Im taking a MEL to OOL flight, alone,on a Sat at noon, and am wanting a window seat, any suggestions for a good seat to take(well, request atleast, etc)
which row numbers seem to be good for getting a window then the seat next to you spare,or should I just request at check in or ???
Ive got this flight for free, was thinking of maybe just purchasing another seat, so I can have the seat next to me empty for definite, would work out cheaper than prem economy also!
many thanks for any ideas.;)

Purchase a second seat is the only real way of guaranteeing it. The other choice is to check in as late as possible and hope that you can still find two seats which are free. Of course there is a risk with this method that you may end up with the worst seat on the plane.

thanks for that, ive never purchased 2 seats for one person before, how do i do that?
Ive already got the first seat, how would I get the 2nd,just buy online, then phone DJ and ask them to add the 2nd to the first reservation?
 DO they need a reason for the purchase of the 2nd seat?
many thanks

If it is a cheap ticket then seat allocation is at check-in. So request at check-in & see how you go. I've noticed that they fill the plane from the back to the front. So early check-in is at the back. If you buy a second seat & it's an obvious no show & they want the seat then they will put someone in it.
Good luck & let us know what happens.

This is incorrect, if you buy a second seat you check in for both and no one sits in it.

many thanks for all answers...
I guess they cant put someone in a seat that you have purchased.!! thats double dipping!
I was wanting to know if they will ask why I have purchased 2 seats.
(and Im not large,so that wouldnt be why):)

I'm curious... is the concept that you book a spare seat, check in for that spare seat, but then do a 'no-show'?
