Just a heads up.

Checking back thru the Jetstar posts I found the old dates of their 3c 4c 5c sales for their birthday which usually is announced the first or 2nd week of May.

I'm expecting a 6000 seats for 6 cents (or $6) sale over 6 minutes (or hours) plus take a friend for free sale which always comes out about a week after the domestic birthday sale.

The only question this year is whether this will be released only to those who have taken up a Jetstar Mastercard or to Jetmail Members. From a publicity perspective they will probably go with the Jetmail option which usually means the website falls over after 30 seconds.

Some of the prices is actually quite reasonable ...

Definitely no Starclass 2 for 1 if you try a dummy booking. Definitely some good deals, though I doubt I'm not the only one who was hoping for a virtually free fares like in previous years, maybe they're still yet to come. I am waiting on them to send me a travel voucher they owe me, hopefully will be able to use it on this.

Seems only JetSaver Light and JetSaver fares are available. Also, the difference between the fares that accounts for baggage is not halved (i.e. if a domestic airfare for a JetSaver Light costs $200 per person during the sale (for any multiple of two people), the JetSaver fare costs $210 per person, not $205).

However, unlike some other 2-for-1 sale fares, this one does not charge separate taxes for the second person (some QF fares have been known for this, e.g. only the base fare is free for the second person). Of course, incidentals and extras are charged at full price for each person.

Some honestly nice fares for pairs with fairly generous dates (besides the standard blackouts), but no points or SCs to be earnt :( Still, a good deal if you're prepared to fly JQ.

A couple of typos on the headline page. gilby08 pointed one out; another is this table heading which shows that some of the international routes are valid for flight bookings between:

15 Feb - 23 Mar 2919

Errr...if I die before I use my ticket, can my estate get a refund or have the name change fee waived?

Are you assuming that JQ brand will last THAT LONG?! :D

Not that I would fly Jetstar but good to see the single traveller discriminated against again.

im trying to make a booking from sydney to melbourne in feb/mar but it doesnt seems to have the special promotion fare available...anyone tried?

No discrimination JohnK, just single pax pay normal price.

Maybe you need a friend :!:

I didn't want to bite, but looks like someone did.

As JohnK would say, a promotion like this should be available to everyone. Even singles.....

If *class had been included and HNL in November been included then I might have been enticed.
