Iberia worst airline for losing luggage - Telegraph
The Spanish carrier lost 19.2 bags for every 1,000 people who boarded its planes during the winter months, ending in March.
It was rated the worst performer among 26 participants in a survey carried out by the Association of European Airlines

Another reason for them to remain on my OW avoid list.Wonder what will happen when the merger with BA becomes operational?

You’d want to say things would improve, but they probably lose the luggage because of the attitudes of their staff, so cost savings or not, that’s not going to change.

I’m now glad I’m only flying into Spain, and on BA.

That is only 1.92% loss rate per customer!!!! My loss rate with them is much worse, I am guessing around 25%. My next flight with them is on Thursday, from JNB to MAD to PRG, which will give them 3 opportunities to lose my luggage.

Having said that, I still have a soft spot for Iberia (I generally like their staff, and I really like their lounge in Madrid), and lots of other airlines have also lost my luggage, but perhaps not quite as frequently. I also get more AA points flying with Iberia than with BA :) and their one-way prices on this trip were surprisingly reasonable.

I wouldn't say they'd improve. In fact, I'd hypothesise that BA will give up metal on the route in favour of IB instead.

More on topic, I'm surprised BA doesn't even make the top 3. Sure it has T5 and it is working this time, but BA had a horrid record even pre-T5.
