I'm just coming to the end of my Cert III in Tourism and was wondering what are the common/main Industry Publications that TA's read? And where are they available (ie subscription basis only, or newsagent, online etc)...?

Thks !

What I tend to read the most is Travel Daily (Travel Daily) and Travel Today (http://www.travelweekly.com.au/enewsletter.asp)

They're both in email format, Travel Today is free, whereas Travel Daily is a paid publication (though I get a colleague to fwd it to me for free), to be honest, they're both almost exactly the same so TT would suffice.

I also tend to take a gander at e-Travel Blackboard: Australia's Number One Industry Newsletter every now and then.

I used to read Travel Weekly, which is a print format, but I'm too tight to pay the $149 subscription so go without, though it is a good publication.

There's also Travel Talk though to be honest I always found that boring and of little interest or use to read so wouldn't bother paying to subscribe to it.

Hope that helps.

How about Australian Frequent Flyer on-line forums

It's actually interesting you say that, because although i initially joined to contribute, I have in the process actually gained alot too.

The amount of useful info on QF FFP and status runs has enabled me to add value to the client experience by giving them information that webjet or any other online website wont give them, so its been great.
