I'm WP but am approaching lifetime silver (70sc to go). What happens when I reach this goal? Does Qantas send me out a letter or some sort of free tie pin (of which I already have been given several!)

I am getting close as well.

Apparently all you get is a letter. Don't get too excited!

Yes when you reach LTS, you get a letter. If already gold or higher, it will indicate LTS benefits kick in when you fail to requalify for gold.

When you reach LTG however, you well um, get a letter.......

Never mind LT status is recognition enough, no need for a cheap gimmick to recognise the fact.

One of the differences with AA-reaching LT Gold(same as LTS on QF) I received 4 system wide upgrades,a new card with 1 million miles on it and new luggage tags-and of course a letter. The new card has already come in handy when checking in at SYD a week ago-it was quiet and the agent asked why,as someone who obviously travelled regularly, was I still bronze-flashed the million mile card and got offered an exit row!

I can confirm - a letter - its a nice letter though, on good paper, probably not recycled, and there's no spelling mistakes, and it looks nice - what more could one possibly want

LOL

Mr!

Mr!

I wouldn't think that 100,000 QFF miles (at QF's inflated redemption rates) is to much to ask!

Perhaps a return flight voucher redeemable within the domestic network? (non points and sc earning of course:p)

Hi all,

LTS should put you higher up the ladder for redemptions than normal PS as it has been earned through years of loyalty. QF should reward the long term member who has over years spent a lot of time onboard.

Perhaps NB/PS/LTS/SG/LTG/WP/WP+PG/CL.

Just my thoughts.

Or a couple of free upgrades!:)

(just cracked 5000 lifetime SCs so a mere 2000 to go or four to five years at the current rate of flying)

i received LTS about 2 yrs ago and cannot even remember if I received anything, probably a letter. I am fast approaching LTG (i estimate about 1 yrs travel to go) and I do not care if I get nothing as the knowlege I never have to worry about getting into a lounge is reward enough when I start to travel less. I think they need to introduce a LTP (life tiem platinum) where you get First lounge access anytime, now that would be cool...... It would actually recognise flyers who have done the real hard yards.

Sounds like a good idea.

I also like the idea about receiving free upgrades. If AA can hand eVIPs on attaining lifetime status then QF can also the same.

There was a thread recently about someone who had earned either 21,000 SC’s or 28,000 SC’s and was wondering aloud when they would get to LTP, if it even existed at all.

I also recall someone at one stage mentioned they thought CL gave LTP.

I think until recently CL was CL for life I think it is new that they take it off people.

ISTR a news item about QF thinning the CL list.

I recall that too, but if they’re thinning the list, then those life memberships have turned out to not be life after all. However, I wonder if after CL, you’d be given LTP, or you just go to WP for a year before relying on SC’s again…

If only... All I got for LTG was a nice letter.

The GFC has cut my annual earn rate significantly (all Y travel now) since then so even if there were such a thing as LTP or Gifted CL access, it's probably going to be a long way off for me... It makes me wonder about the 10 Million Mile card in the film "Up In the Air" - does AA actually have such a thing?

OT I know but I watched that film (on a flight of course) and I kept thinking 'I do that...'
