Just a quick tip for all those that are going on the SIN-HKG-BKK status run in J.

I tried to book it for consecutive days but unfortuanately the system would not allow it for the price so needless to say I booked it for a couple of days extra in Bangkok. As it is in J I thought I would check at Changi and see if I could make changes to the previous day. They were happy to change my return date for me at no charge and as I was travelling on the 19:00 flight from BKK they were going to leave my HKG flight the same thus giving me a 36hr stop over in HKG.

Just thought I would mention to all those that were wanting a stop over in HKG.

Thanks.

That all makes sense, and good for CX for exercising their discretion there when they needn't have to.

I've planned my two runs so that I have very short overnighters in BKK and longer one(s) in SIN. Mine are consecutive days (i.e. SIN-HKG-BKK on day 1 then the reverse on day 2), which was allowable on the "sale" fare (I class); for a same day return (i.e. SIN-HKG-BKK-HKG-SIN all in one day), only the full fare (J class) was available.

Cheers for that information. I am doing this trip in May (just once though), but I am taking my girl with me, so I had to have days in BKK as a bargain chip for the "silliness" of flying via HKG. I may try and move the BKK-HKG forward a day and have 39 hours in HKG. Will have to see.

She is a good woman :)
