Looks like today’s ROR-BNE service is making a stop in CNS.
I suppose the question is - is Palau worth visiting? Enough to do for a week? Accommodation, for us, is expensive. Is it just because of low supply and high demand? We'll soon have direct access to the Cookies, yes, with that airline that those of us without limitless budgets fly. We love the Cookies. Comparable experience if you've been?
I like snorkelling but Palau is as pointed out an expensive destination. That the mainland Chinese are arriving in numbers may be pushing up accommodation rates per night.

I explored the CI option last year and with very advance planning there were Y seats available TPE-KOR relatively often. However, CI seats have often been harder to come by in general recently on QFF and perhaps via other partners (check Flyertalk). How difficult is it to use QFF points to redeem this route, or to get on the CI flight to TPE?

$799 return in Y or $2,399 return in J as part of Pacific Islands Red Tail saleCash fares start from $899 return in Y or $2,792 return in J for BNE-ROR.
We are going to Palau this Sat on points: J there and Y back.$799 return in Y or $2,399 return in J as part of Pacific Islands Red Tail sale
I think you are quite right to see this as points well spent. The price of 6k is ridiculous for QF business...even if it was triple status credits. ,We are going to Palau this Sat on points: J there and Y back.
QF want $6000+ for a return in J, and $1300+ for a Y return this Sat. I thought i could cancel our award flights and get double SCs on the J cash fare with current QBR promo but alas the J cash fare is rather expensive!
We recently spent 8 nights in Palau...arrived on the Qf flight on Sat afternoon, and left on Sun am, 8 nights later. This meant we had 7 full days in Palau. With the weekly Qf flight, the only other option for a shorter stay was to fly to Taipei, Manilla or Guam from Palau. The addition of the second weekly flight makes Palau a much more viable destination for Aussies IMHO. I found Koror great for 3-4 nights, but wouldn't personally have wanted to stay a full 8 days (as the current QF schedule requires).

The first day we relaxed at our hotel...we had a very long day the day prior, ,having to take the 0600 flight to Bne from Syd to catch the mid morning flight to Ror.
The next 2 days were full days on the water (tours) incl snorkelling, kayaking, mud bath etc.
The 4th day we rested and relaxed at the hotel.
The 5th and 6 th day we hired a car to explore the islands.
On the 7th day we snorkelled off the hotel beach / reef in the am, and took a scenic flight (a must and book early as we nearly missed out even though there are 3 companies doing scenic flights) over Palau.
In hindsight this was the perfect length...if you fly in on Wed pm and leave Sun am, you only have 3 full days in Palau which is a little rushed, and you wont have time to relax!
