It appears that the demise of the A380 from QF93 also comes with a retiming of QF93 from 0945 hrs to 2245hrs, and an extension of QF10 PER-MEL

QF93 2245-- 1905
There is no retiming of QF94
However QF10 PER-MEL arrives in MEL at 2045

Perhaps the retiming of QF93 allows better utilisation of a 787-9 and gives PER customers an easy connection to LAX
However, the downside is the potential for delays in the the QF9/10 sectors extending to QF93, and onward connections ex QF93 would be very difficult
This domino effect of delays were evident at MEL when QF were operating QF9/10 via DXB using the A380 and then turning it around to operate QF93/94 or vica versa. The turn around time was less than 2 hours. This meant that delays on one sector just dominoes into the next.

I posted a few minutes ago re what occurred on the first day, Sunday 25 October, in the Qantas delays/cancellations thread on AFF.

'The 10' was only eight minutes late arriving in MEL but 'the 93' (due to push back at 2245) took off at 0019 this morning, meaning an approximately 77 minutes late arrival at gate an hour or so ago in Los Angeles.

Agree re potential for cascading delays, as previously made that point in the other thread.

There is 285 minutes allowed in LAX for the turnaround from QF93 to QF94, but if 'the 93' often runs 90 minutes late and minor repairs/attention are/is required during the Los Angeles time on the ground, this becomes more challenging.

They did this schedule back in 2022 as well. So they're familiar with this type of operation.

The difference this time is no QF9, due to ME situation. So QF94 aircraft presumably continues onto PER as QF 773 @ 13:30, giving 3:50 turn around and move across to domestic terminal, and an opportunity for some P1s (?) to snag PE seats transcon when travelling in economy,

Then is it just 1:45 in PER before QF 773 continues to SIN/LHR as QF209?

I don't think they need to move the aircraft in PER, QF operates from its own integrated terminal there (T3/T4, not the general international terminal at T1), they just rearrange the gate barriers.
