Well we’ve booked like CR PE seats from Toronto to Hong Kong for late September with the next step is revenue fares for the flight home to Brizvegas.

My concern is that there don’t appear to be any flights from HKG to BNE after early Jan (website or app).

I’ve contacted CX via messenger and they just said they are no flights to Brisbane loaded. Keep checking.

Is this normal?

Does it only apply to reward seats or revenue seats as well?
I am sure revenue seats will be available - no rewards seats is normal as well in January, due to millions of International Students coming to study in Austrlia, millions of tourists also need to come to Australia during Lunar New Year holiday period.

I can see HKG-BNE for March and even Sep next year. Is there something specific you're searching?

Cathay appear to be operating A350s through to end of schedule with no changes. The times have remained the same post covid return for multiple IATA seasons and the fight numbers have also been the same for I'd want to say for almost 20 years so much so the CX station in Brisbane has a personalised number plate with one of the flight numbers.

Fact check: it was 770k last year.

The peak was 836k in 2025.

The number has never reached one million and certainly not “millions”. Source

Back on topic…

My concern is that there don’t appear to be any flights from HKG to BNE after early Jan (website or app).

I can see inventory loaded for double daily flights, CX165 & CX157 out to 16SEP27.

Wow. Two of us have tried, over a couple of days, and neither can see anything. Even CX said there was nothing.

Sat 25 Sept 1155 flight. Maybe I’ll try IE, or incognito, next time.

Very confused.
