Strategy to obtain US Amex

Not sure if that one is flagged as a CRMA. I use Planet Express and they sent a letter there to confirm it both last year when I got a AAdvantage card and just 2 days ago when I applied for a Strata Premier. There is a code on the letter. You should have an application number, you type the code in and it will then hopefully approve you. I think if you get to the address verification stage they have already checked you out enough that you qualify for the credit line. They pulled Equifax for me.
Thanks. Called re-con and was told 7-10 days for a letter. No other reason was provided. Hopefully MyUS accepts letters!

Applied for gold Amex for friend through GT .gor approved but surprisingly no sign up bonus . First US card . Is that normal ? Any tips ? Should he withdraw and try again maybe in 30 days ?

So did she first withdraw the online application and then make a fresh application ? Or did they work on same original application ? Did they ask for proof of address etc again ?TIA

Suggest the first GT be a CC, not a charge card, because a charge card won't really help build your credit profile.
It’s not a huge deal. I went a charge card first to transfer Australian MRs over which was more lucrative. Got three other credit cards (HSBC, Amex, Chase) within 12 months of my GT.

Yeah, it just charges cards have no preset spending limit, so it generally does not contribute to a normal revolving credit limit in FICO utilisation calculations.

CC gives you something more useful when your U.S. file is brand new: a reported credit limit, balance, utilisation, and payment history.
