Virgin Australia and Air NZ form new partnership

If its the old loaned to AirNZ b777, then its the 2x2x2 J seating plan.
AirNZs own b777 is 1x2x1 in J, have used it several times.
Unless they are selling premY as J!!!
Air NZ don't have any 777s with 2-2-2. The dry leases from Cathay are all 1-2-1, as are their own 777s.

Maybe it is the Vamos A330 with 2-2-2 configuration. I thought they were gone?
The wee map seems to show a 777 ,🤨 and is now back to a 1-2-1 for March 26..😁

Just booked via VA with VA flight code PER-AKL-PER on ANZ metal 2,500AUD return. Good price. Booked it twice!🤪🤣. It's also good you can choose seats etc. Decent ANZ lounge at PER etc. I guess reasonable points return for the cost....

Huh, I literally just booked MEL to AKL via the VA site, 777 over on the new lie flat J in row 1, then back on the A321neo, due to flight times (777 returns too early).
$1034, which was slightly cheaper than booking direct with ANZ and counts towards my VA-operated or marketed flights :)

Yeah that's a good price ex MEL. Everything from PER costs more so happy enough with mine also. Ex PER the row one was 350 dollars on top of fare. How about ex MEL?

Choice MEL to AKL on the 777 was $437 vs business for $742, although if I selected to fly on an A320 Choice would have been $322 on the same day.
You definitely got a good deal from Perth!
Was that via the VA site?

Yes it was via VA. Biz on 777 outbound and biz in 787 back.

Overnight flight outbound. Y much cheaper but really don't fancy being within a tin of sardines. The price from Perth is very good in "biz" considering it's cheaper than flying VA 737 in biz between Perth and Sydney and back!

Hello brains trust,

Hoping that somone might be able to give me suggestions.

Was wanting to book MEL - AKL - SYD - MEL with VA (codeshare with Air NZ) using cash/card, and not points, for October.

Am unable to do multi-city as it's not domestic. Unable to book it myself on the website.

Any idea how I can do it or any work-arounds? Or do I have to contact guest contact center? Not wanting to get them to do it, as it incurs a fee.

Thanks a dozen.

=)

Call and politely ask for the fee to be waived, as you can't book it online.

Try an online travel agent...they can happily do multicity on VA flight numbers.

It is reported on another source that VA has lodged an application to ACCC for mutual FFP recongition and greater codeshare.
There're also talks about a possible merger between Velocity and Koru, and I hope this materialise, so that Forever Gold VA members will be able to get Lifetime *G to get respected across Europe.

* Checks Date *

It’s not April 1st.

What is this other source? This makes absolutely no sense.

ACCC approval isn’t needed for loyalty program recognition. Codeshares yes. Merger? Wild. I’ll believe it when I see it.

That part was the poster's own speculation and not based on anything concrete.

I understand and I have been trying to find sources but I cannot.
I am only quoting what others are saying from the other source, but I really hope VA Forever Gold can be used across more airlines, or else it is useless for me to spend $144,000 to get it.

Can you at least describe the other source?

The fact you refer to “the other source’ without naming it is highly suspicious.

But you're not exactly quoting it correctly.

First part - that NZ and VA have apparently lodged an application to the ACCC for expanded FFP recognition and expanded codeshare - correct quoting, but as you say, there's nothing to verify this.

Second part - a merger between Velocity and Koru - pure speculation and wishful thinking from a different poster.

It's just a.net.
