The airline ones are not overly attractive unless they allow split payments or sell gift cards. Otherwise, split bookings are required to max out the offer.

I don't mind, I don't see much problem. Like with the United one, you know you will spend more than $1000 per person, so I would use one card for my seat, another card for a friend, another card for another friend.

Impractical for a family but yes entirely feasible in some circumstances, but a rather PITA way to make and handle bookings. That's the price of playing the game though.

Can't you book for each person, then ask the airline to link all the bookings to the same PNR?

Dunno about the rules for booking for UMs. Having to link PNRs? You can see how we've already strayed into PITA territory.

Not sure about United, but I haven't had any problem previously with other airlines. Also, you are not changing name, changing details, still the same ticket number, so I can't think of any rules which may apply?

$400 cash back per person, that's $1200 for a family of 3, or $1600 for a family of 4. I am not an E level executive, I am dirt poor. For $1200, I am willing to wait 12 hours on the customer service hotline at $100 per hour!

I don't know how would they check this, because they sure cannot see your ticket or where you are going, unless you volunteer that information over!

When I book SQ using my Amex it actually says class and route and even pax name i think on the statement

That's it. Or have they done somthing recently?

Have a look at the transaction using online banking, click the transaction description to expand and it should show on the right

I doubt anyone on this website is 'dirt' poor. If you have a passport and can buy an air ticket you are already in the top 60% of Aussies based on the number of Aussies with passports.
