Well I did it. I finally hit my LTG yesterday (14,000 SC’s exactly!). I took a screenshot of the app spraying me with confetti as I doubt QF will do anything, and this will be the only recognition I get. It doesn’t seem like I can post my screenshot, but the other proof is I can moan about QF until the end of time!

It took 4 years of flying around the pacific islands for my work - around 70 flights on average a year, probably about 50/50 economy/business. Thankfully my work paid for everything, and I have no idea if anyone who is paying themselves would ever get here, as it’s very expensive. Most months I’m spending $6000 aud with Qantas. I’m sure that those spending their own money would use the DSC events, but due to the responsive nature of the job, I haven’t had the joy of fully using the dsc’s.

The joke is, I’m leaving Australia in 3 months time and will not be using OW for travel in the future. QF will see me going from P1 LTG to never flying again! I think that’s why I may have wanted the LTG so much, just in case I find myself in an airport, I can get lounge access when I want it.

Anyways, thanks for reading. Is my life going to change, nope. Am I expecting anything from QF, nope. Do I wish you all the best chasing your LTG, yup!

Well, I went LTG in 2008 on a mix of work whY and a couple of DONEX's on the personal dime.

But 15 successive annual DONEX's plus 1 AONEX on the personal dime (until covid rudely interrupted the flow) helped the process immensely - expensive, yes; great value YES!:
