ANZ Credit Card Changes Effective 28th October 2026

ANZ have announced their changes effective 28th October 2026.

Ther largest changes are to the included insurances. Different cards will have different levels of insurance (three tiers total) with some changes in December and others in March.

Monthly points caps have been introduced. They kick in at $25k per statement period for Platinum cards and $50k per statement period for Black cards. No changes to the current earn rates or tiering thresholds.

Slight increases in interest rates and cash advance fees. No changes to the annual fees.

Phew. I have the ANZ Black... 1 Qf pt per $1 up to $7500 per statement so no change. I can live with this.

Dont use their travel insurance so not an issue for me.

brutal for some cards where international and domestic travel insurance is being removed entirely.

ANZ platinum is level 2 which reduces trips to one month, and now only covers cancellation, medical and personal liability. Which is fine for me! But others may miss things like baggage.

Yep, if you’re not using their travel insurance then there’s basically no change. ANZ substantially devalued the sign-up bonus (for the Qantas card anyway) and basically kept the ongoing earn rate the same, whereas other banks have mostly lowered the ongoing earn rate and kept the sign up offer (for now anyway).
