8VG scheduled to depart Boeing Field tomorrow on delivery to VA.

First stop Melbourne, Florida for Wifi installation.

9 of the 12 MAX-8's scheduled for delivery this year will be purchased rather than leased.

Also appears there will be a couple less 737-800 retirements than previously planned.

VARA is getting rid of 320s and F100s
So in FY27 +5 Max8 offset by -2 737-800, -3 320, with the only growth from +2 E190s.
A little more growth in this remaining half.

Also no mention of the MAX 10 orders on the book. I suspect those won’t be joining the VA fleet until last least late 2027 even if Boeing manages to certify them in 2026.

There was a brief line in the report that mentioned they retain "firm orders and option rights for a number of Boeing 737-10 aircraft in the future."

VARA is getting rid of 320s

Interesting they are pulling them at the end of the FY but holding them until the lease expires. I wonder how long that is, explains why they have sort of stretched out the retirement.

An operating lease is often 10 years which corresponds which a heavy check, so these three being 2006 builds, they wouldn’t be far off I guess. Unless they negotiated 5 year terms after the administration which seems likely looking at the other exits.

Not really any allowance for WSI ops in these fleet numbers above (and forecasted growth data provided) so I’d say it’s a watch and see game for the moment.
