Hi, I may need to do a status run mid year, which I would book if a DSC offer comes out. As I'm a Points Club Member I would book this on points. My question is for reward bookings, if for example I book Melbourne to Brisbane, and select a displayed flight option that goes via Sydney (i.e. 2 flights), do I get Status Credits awarded for each flight? Or because it is a reward booking, does it just look at origin and destination when calculating SC earn. I know if it was a revenue flight I'd get credit for 2 separate flights, but I thought I had read that being a reward flight it may be calculated differently?

No you will get partial SC earn for both legs provided there are 2 flight numbers.

You'll get status credits per sector. Note that the cash surcharges are higher the more sectors you have.

No you will get partial SC earn for both legs provided there are 2 flight numbers.

You will get SC per sector as long as it's separate flight numbers. So a MEL-SYD-BNE in business Classic Rewards would earn 18+18 SC in one direction (double that during DSC).

I missed that one. Unfortunately there were a few sales that I was keeping an eye on that with DSC would have made for some great status runs <$3/SC. But their sales are over now and they're back in the $5-$6 range.

If you have the available funds, book the full flexi fare/s during the DSC then when there is the inevitable sale, change the flights for when you are doing the actual status run. So long as the PNR is the same, you'll get the DSC.

I've done this in the past where I've booked multiple placeholder flights and just changed the dates to when I actually want to fly and I got the DSC.

How'd you go about making the change? When I look at the Business Flex fare rules it says:

• Your flight can only be changed to a new fare of equal or higher value. Alternatively, a Flight Credit can be used to book fares lower than your original ticket price and can be used towards multiple bookings.

Please excuse the ignorance, I'm pretty new to the SC run game.
