Do I need 200 SC ?

I haven't flown much since 2021 and my platinum has fallen to bronze. i do like an EK F award though which soon i can't get. I'm wondering if it's even worth pursuing 200sc with QF to regain access there. I'm PCP and have millions of QF points. I could think of a reason to go to DFW soon, i fly out of PER.
Should i bother chasing this?

You need to weight:
The inconvenience and cost to chase silver.
The likelihood you can book your EK flights in F, once EK implements all the announced change. At best F availability goes back to what it was a while (1 year?) ago. You have the points, great, but you need the seats.
Cost taxes, and percieved value of EK F flights. Do you have other options for comfortable travel from PER?

Since you are PCP, I would wait first to see if F redemptions come back at a better volume. Worse case scenario you drop bronze, start with 100SC from PCP, maybe a green tier, and you are back 200 SC away from Silver, but you have all the info to make a better informed decision.

So much depends on your plan, preferences etc...

If your main objective is to continue to use your millions of points for EK F then yes you should pursue Silver. Considering the millions of points and thousands of dollars in surcharges you'll be spending for EK F then earning 300 status credits is not really a big deal.

Couple points here, the policy Qantas has announced has zero effect right now (that comes into effect on February 18). So if you find something on EK in F you should book it now. That way there is no need to go out of your way for Silver Status. I'll let the other commenters speculate how EK F will work after that date if you already have an EK F award flight but want to change the dates. Aside from booking EK F flights (supposing there is availability) are there any other tangible benefits you can point to that you reasonably expect to use with Silver status?

As for Silver status itself there are a number of ways to earn status credits on the ground such as the green tier and some Qantas credit cards I believe so you could of course factor that into the calculation. Getting 300 status credits on its own isn't hard, particularly if you are based in Perth and there is an appealing double status credits promotion available.
