SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Correct and the FDA (US) has finally acknowledged that infants exposed early to peanuts have very low peanut allergy
Backed up by the LEAP and LEAP-On trials.

Wanna reduce the chance your kids having peanut allergy? Maybe a bit of satay sauce as an infant?
Although we deliberately exposed our 2nd born (in the womb) to the same stuff as 1st born incl. chilli, curry etc.. 1st born no issues but 2nd born super allergic to chilli but NOT all chilli. No nut allergies, just as no-one I went to school with had any nut allergies. It is a modern day problem. Some studies suggest it is due to higher number of caesarean births in Australia,

Satay's ex-Perth are loaded in Singapore and are reverse catered. This is possible due to the shorter flight time.
But the same thing applies for the other countries. Every outstation where Satay is served in the return flight, it is flown in from Singapore. Including LHR at a much longer 14h flight away.

As someone wrote in to customer service a few years ago on this thread and it was confirmed to them it’s really Australia’s biosecurity / custom laws which prevent SQ from loading Satay on the outbound flight to Australia and then serving it on the return flight home.

Hence I was wanting to know why Perth has a rather elusive exemption to the rule. I know it’s just a few sticks of chicken but there’s no doubt they’re delicious and an integral part in my view of the SQ biz experience.

Can't bring in honey from interstate, but Singapore Chicken Satay is fine 🙃
