Griswold’s Road Trip

I usually tend to mention that we are doing it on the next holidays to embarrass Rusty, Ellen plays along on that joke knowing we would never do it.
You are missing out on some fun. When we do our Christmas trips with our family Mrsdrron organises the same outfit for Christmas meals and NYE. That was for 13 when we spent the time at Disneyworld.
The best time was in Launceston during COVID. The family was able to come and Christmas lunch was at Me Wah. We were dressed in red which impressed the Chinese staff. It made it a very special meal.

The big thing at Disney when I was there was Thing 1,2,3 etc shirts from Dr Suess.
Every family had the kids in them....probably another new cooler fad nowdays,

Harry Potter was the fad at Universal at the time, the money people, including grown adults, were spending on HP stuff was mind blowing..$US50 for a plastic stick "wand" etc

I was lucky I went by myself, saved thousands.

Rusty would definitely be embarrassed and think it's really rank. Take a vote on it!

Up to Charleston today, stopping off at Red Rooster Cafe in Beaufort for some lunch.

Grilled cheese with fried green tomatoes and bacon, served with tomato soup.

The old district in Savannah was very quiet, but quite a few people enjoying the restaurants and bars on a balmy Friday afternoon. Saw more people exercising around Charleston today than the whole trip combined.

If you and the kids like military planes and boats, you can go on the USS Yorktown Air Craft Carrier at patriots Point over the bridge.
Same type/era as Intrepid in New York but much cheaper and less crowded.
You used to be able to go almost anywhere on the boat without hinderance. The Yorktown is a bit more run down and doesnt have as many fancy planes or a Space Shuttle.

Thanks for the tip but unfortunately we had moved on when.
