The old Q Tags (coasters) are available from lounges freely. Seems Qantas is getting rid of them.

Seen reports of them available at SYD Dom J, PER J. I'm sure more elsewhere too.

If they're still around on Friday, I might pick another coaster or two up myself.

Will be in the PER dom J tomorrow and can report back.

Are they sitting around to be grabbed or need to ask at the front desk kind of scenario?

Pic of SYD i saw they were in a basket somewhere. You could probably ask staff too. Guy that mentioned PER on Reddit got 3 p1 tags from staff.

Wow, those things used to sell for hundreds on eBay.

Amazing. If anyone has spare WP ones, I wouldn't mind a couple of extra... won't be heading to Int for a while.
I think the photo i saw was Syd dom J and a basketful of WP. (I'm sure theyvhave silver and gold somewhere too).

I do wonder if QF are basically scrapping the idea of Q tags how long the scanners are going to keep supporting them.

(I also wonder why they're actually scrapping the idea, it always seemed like a "genuine" enhancement to me!)

The writing was on the wall that the days are numbered when they said they were no longer giving them out. I worry that this Christmas dump of tags is a sign the whole thing is going to be scrapped in 2026. The q bag tag system really is the most unique and convenient bag tag system in the world (that I have experienced). Yes I know there has been problems of multi city trips and last minute checked bags. Overall being able to walk up to bag drop without fiddling with a bag sticker is great. Really will miss it when its gone for good.
