Qantas Platinum One experiences?

I think they didn't have much of a choice. Can't have something between WP and CL - dark grey and black are too similar.
Purple (a "royal" colour) has some VA connotations.
Emerald/dark green is the colour of EK Y 😂
Orange is the express connection/AA priority baggage colour - now there's an idea!
No way. (1) Far too EasyJet. (2) I was brought up a Catholic in Scotland: buggered if I have an orange card for anything!

They changed it a while back because the white color was almost indistinguishable from QFF Sliver.
Loads of staff complained and quite a few P1s due to being questioned showing their BP on the phone in a priority queue.

I don’t think you will find too many of us unhappy with the change.
YMMV
I agree the change is better for staff. I was asked in Auckland “are you even a Qantas frequent flyer member.” Lovely young woman doing her best. I just chuckled and said “for a few years now”.

After barely scraping my way into WP last year I set out to earn the more manageable 1,200 SC to maintain it and I think it’s fair to say I overshot it slightly.

I have absolutely no chance of retaining it next year but until then I look forward to the ego boost.

Congratulations, make sure you update your AFF profile and post in this thread often for bragging rights :) You might just scrape in for the Christmas gift, rumour has it it's the signed autobiography of Alan Joyce :p

I'm in the same boat as you and they will send an email a few months out saying you're abit far away from re-qual P1 the next year 🤣

They will also give you a call to say congratulations verbally, but if you missed the call, they will also send you an email.

I have two words in my surname and without asking, they made sure both initials were printed(embossed?) on the laptop folder they sent as part of the P1 kit

Did you ask if they offer a requal with points option like the Gold 80k / Plat 120k 😂 I will be asking closer to July 2026!
man it probs be like 300k for retention -> perhaps I should do this after I return from my trip!

Either way, P1 benefits thoroughly used and got my values worth in points before the Aug deval to get this winter trip sorted.

Whether the mixture of adding personal trips to supplement my general business travel to get to P1 was worth it or not is a different story.
