Changing seats T mins to Departure?

Don’t normally and up on QF but have been recently. What’s the story with changing seats in the app after checkin?

Is there a set time they cut it off?

I found I could switch seats like 45-60 mins prior to departure in the app which was an easier way to secure a few seats vs paying the neighbour fee.

Up until boarding I believe.

In fact, I’m sure I’ve seen the option to change seats even on board!

You could change it whilst you're in the boarding line if you wanted as long as the app allowed you to. Probably not a good idea if the system is half updating and you need to scan the digital boarding pass though.

I've definitely changed it last relatively last minute before and the CSM had already noted all the platinum's seats and was a bit confused when i wasn't at my seat. He disappeared off and figured out where I went to afterwards.
