Amex point conversions

I have over a million Amex points accumulated over many years that I want to use for reward flights or flight upgrades in the next few years. Since Amex is changing the conversion rates to different airline loyalty plans from December 15 or so, the smart thing to do seems to be to transfer my points to an airline before then.

Based on your experiences with availability of award flights and/ or upgrades, what would be the best airline loyalty program(s) to convert my Amex points to? Any key things I might need to consider?

SQ has good availability and low taxes but your points (miles) will be subject to a three year hard expiry. That is, if you haven't used them within 3 years of transferring them, you will loose them.

I was going to transfer what I have to QR but now I am worried if the BA increases will affect QR on the BNE-DOH-IST/SAW routes. 85k for J is pretty good. They aren't giving specifics for partner airlines, just one example for BA flights. SQ raised the prices to 124k SQ for BNE-SIN-IST. I only have 38k Amex now but I can supplement either Avios or SQ from my US Chase cards. I can get 19k Avios or around 12.5k SQ. Or 23k VA with a bonus and then send to SQ for 14,800-ish SQ. I hope I got that right, maths aren't my strong suit.
