I am going to Europe with my parents in their 70s and the flight is arriving at 7am in the morning.
I want to have a room guaranteed to be ready by the time we arrive at 8am in the city, and I am a ALL Silver member.
I wonder if I wanted to have rooms available by that time, would you recommend booking an extra night before and do late check in at 9am the next day, or should book for the night and send an email to request for early check in?
Thanks.

And if you do book for the night before note that you will arrive approximately 0800 hours. Otherwise you'll be treated as a no-show late that night.

And contact the hotel the day before to remind them of your arrival time.

If I choose this option, is this guaranteed?
Yes it’s guaranteed as you have paid for it.
Like others have said, I prefer to book for the night before but you must tell the staff of your late arrival to prevent a no show.
I will contact the property a day or so out just to remind them I won’t be arriving until that time. By booking the night before you can there anytime which is handy if your flight gets in early and you can also enjoy breakfast at the hotel if we feel like it. Suits me as I often don’t eat airline breakfasts

Early check in and day use rooms don’t attract any stay credits for status but do earn points, which is logical but sometimes overlooked.
