2 days for me.. Travel completed on 23th Nov. 20SC's arrived on 26th Nov. I believe the weekend transaction always gets delayed. if you do something on the weekday then i always get it in 2 days.Quick question re Qantas travel insurance. How quickly do the points generally land after the departure date? Online it says can take up to 6 weeks after departure date but wondering what real life experience is?
I've just had a few unexpected bookings for travel to see family on the mainland plus I have a premium economy to London soon. Also heading to Alice on points and will get status from PC+. And I am sure I will get the fuel and hotels SCOG... Sadly I missed all the DSC action this year.
So that all means I will be on 606 SC by May 2026 and my year ends August 2026...
I'm now close enough to think it MAY be worth buying a random travel insurance policy now to get the extra 20 SCs. I've looked into dates and added in a high cost item - so I can get the premium to $100 and earn 1600 points in the current sale (and please note I would purely be taking this out to get SCs - no dodgy claims or anything like that!).
Advice appreciated. I am a bit excited about the possibility of being gold again. CX lounges await!
I did have a chuckle when I was checking in at QF SYD Domestic on Monday - there was a huge poster advertising Joe Aston's book right by the checkin counters! It feels like you should get some extra reward when you complete them all. Maybe a 10% discount on the upcoming AJ's memoire*

I think this category was a bit of a dud. For those of us in TAS, there were no options. I like this promo a lot but hope Qantas go broader if they do this again and think about the specifics of what is available in each state (another example, no Hoyts in TAS and even for mainland who is going to spend so much on movies in 3 months!).The utilities earn one is interesting - I’ve been a Red Energy customer for quite a while, and already have rooftop PV so Solargain is not really an option.
Just received my November points and I’m going to end up with about 950 points in the period. Unless the “usage” within December is somehow counted assuming next bill points will post on 1 Jan.
Overall it is very hard to track energy usage vs points earned, and probably incongruent with “Green Tier” to incentivise the use of more grid-drawn energy to earn SC!
Someone mentioned switching to monthly bill. Might be worth a shot? The utilities earn one is interesting - I’ve been a Red Energy customer for quite a while, and already have rooftop PV so Solargain is not really an option.
