The TV news last night included footage of the aurora from Moranbah QLD inland from Mackay.

It's a good addition. The sweet pizza had been out for a while so not that warm.

The breakfast has gone downhill since Covid. Bacon has disappeared as have the little jars to yoghurt and bircher.

Sounds imPERfect.

No such problems in BNE.

Have you or are you going to the museum of Egyptian civilisation? Fantastic mummies gallery of all the kings and Queens in a lower section.

ADL queue for over sized bag check. Complete disaster. Over an hour and flight had to be held. Missed out on seeing the new J lounge

What else to do on a bleak Melbourne afternoon but go for a 70 km Sunday Drive Office

ADL queue for over sized bag check. Complete disaster. Over an hour and flight had to be held. Missed out on seeing the new J lounge

To add a bit more context. ADL was a complete shamozle this Sunday morning. Massive car queue just to get to the drop-off area. Inside the terminal was packed. Looks like both a CX and QR flight had check-in counters open. I needed check-in some wine as fragile. Could not believe the size of the queue.

Joined the back and after 10 minutes it literally had no moved. Guy behind me was flying VA and had been sent to this queue. Went to find QF ground staff. First one fobbed me off to someone else. I had about an hour till boarding but it was obvious this queue would not clear in time. QF ground staff mentioned a second over-sized bag drop by VA. Went there. Airport staff said the x-ray machine was broken so use the other one. I pointed out that the line wasn't moving but they couldn't care less. Went back to QF staff to ask what I should do when still in line and boarding is called. They said they'd come find me.

Despire being down the QF/JQ end, there was now was VA ground staff going through the line and created a second line and pushing some VA pax into that. Needless to say, no one was impressed. After some further time and more of this happened I went back to find QF ground staff. Told them the queue hadn't move and VA staff are just prioritising all VA pax. Said they'd come to the line but didnt. Just became a joke. I was closer to the front when boarding was called. At this point there was a QF manager trying to look busy. I told him it was really disappointing that despite reaching out to QF ground staff they were all absent from helping QF pax while VA were looking after their own.

Another 5 minutes later the manager move another pax on my flight and I to near the front. Our bags are finall processed and we're moved to the security queue. Was told our flight was being held. Dubious whether our bags are on this flight.

All in all, ADL airport staff totally MIA as were QF staff. No one looking to take responsibility and help out pax.
