A week in northern Tassie

if you're nearby LST airport, there's a whiskey distillery nearby at the suburb of Perth (yes I had a bit of a laugh coming out of the airport) called Adam's distillery. They're quite young to the whiskey business and have an ok drop but their coffee whiskey is really really good (and affordable).

Second the visit ti Adams distillery. Great place to visit and good products I often enjoyed whilst working in lonnie. They wer nearly iped out in 2021 bya fire.

A belated updated from the DPO regional lounge (impressed there’s one here but not at Newcastle…)

Didn’t do much yesterday except sleep in and drive to Devonport via the big platypus. It rained continuously so wasn’t super nice.

Checked into the Novotel Devonport, we
Apparently got the nicest room in the house. Welcome gift of fruit and a not-terrible white wine.

Tried to have dinner in the hotel restaurant but it was full so asked to get it takeaway/as room service - only downside is that we can’t get the Accor Explorer discount applied.

Looking forward to the warmer weather in Canberra now! Honestly that’s not a sentence I thought I’d ever say…

Thanks everyone for the tips and for joining me on this trip!

PrezRegan, Thank you for the helpful trip report. It will help us when we do our Tassie trip early next year. We also get tips from neighbour kpc, as they have been there a few times.
Canberra should be warmer for you 😃

We will be in Devonport for a couple of days for Chrissy and I havent planned anything yet (I really have to start booking!) so added big platypus and Axeman hall of fame to the list! Thanks

Today was spent driving to Lonnie in the rain. We retraced the route through cradle mountain we took just a few days ago and ended up stopping at the Peppers Cradle Mountain for lunch. It was absolutely bucketing when we got there but clearer after leaving - I saw (and patted) a wombat!

We’re staying at Peppers Silo. No upgrade as far as I’m aware from our Tamar River Suite but complimentary underground parking and a welcome gift of more wine. Room is very spacious and the water pressure is good. The gym is also quite decent.

Will check out the restaurant tomorrow, tonight we’re grabbing Lebanese in town for something different.

Can you please advise what the parking situation at the Silo is like? I usually pick the Sebel in Launceston because parking is so easy and rooms come with washing machine & dryer but interested in booking the Silos. thanks

Parking outside is free but inside is I think $15 or free if platinum or above. There was plenty outside parking when we were there but it might get full if there’s a conference on
