They seem to be sending tracking emails fortnightly, as I had two separate emails in October approx 2 weeks apart.

I guess you can also track your progress in your Activity Statement which is grouped by categories here:

The categorization on the activity statement is slightly different and includes items that are excluded from this offer.

Qantas Travel Insurance:
Is this done via Qantas Insurance - obtaining a quote & policy? ...or
Taking out the insurance option when booking a regular flight?
To the points & SCs credit when you take out and pay for the policy or when the travel is completed?
I did it via QANTAS Insurance. The key thing is to spend enough over 1 or more policy purchases to get 1,000 points or more.

Found some orphaned HH points today, enough for a transfer to QFF once I worked out my QFF account was in another HH account resulting in errors until I removed it.

SCs posted for me a few days after the Qantas Insurance points were credited — travel hadn’t been completed yet, just purchased for a future trip.

A question for the gurus - I'm currently booking a QF Hotel 2 night stay totally $344 that if paid cash will give me just over the needed 1000 QFF points to receive the 10 SC's - but if I use a $50 Qantas Hotels voucher it will reduce the actual dollar spend to below the $334 needed to get the 1000 QFF points - so the question is obviously - if I use a voucher and the actual dollar spend drops to $294 - does using a voucher reduce the amount of QFF points received? Or will I still receive a total of $344 worth of points?

Unfortunately they changed it a while ago… you used to get the points on the whole balance but these days not. So save your voucher for another time if you can!

Yes, as @Flyingwombat noted. But before you pay, the points earning is clearly displayed on page.

Are you Points Club, because you get a bonus which I believe will count for status on the ground.

I am PC - have booked it without the voucher as @Flyingwombat recommended - best to ensure the 10 SC's are received as that will be 10 less SC's that might be needed in a status run in about April next year!
