2025 F1 Thread

The Sky British cheersquad absolutely perplexed as to the booing of wee Lando.
Maybe its because they want Checo? lol
I dont think the Monza booing was for wanting Checo either

My only consolation from this morning is that Max is still in the hunt, which I genuinely believe is good for Oscar. Max is so rent-free in Lando's head whenever they race, while Oscar has proven that he can go wheel-to-wheel with Max and succeed on a number of occasions.

One big result in the next 4 races are all its going to take.

Also, a grid penalty could be a possibility for at least one of the top 3 from exceeding their component limits - they've got to be close, and with the inability to pass on track a 5 place penalty could be deadly.

Ever since I saw Olly Bearman substituting in 2024 in Saudi Arabia in a Ferrari and Azerbaijan in a Haas, he has looked like something a bit special, this race is confirming why so many people in the F1 paddock were saying good things about him then.

Glad I didn't watch the full race, as it looks like it was all building up to a good race when the VSC ruined it. Seems to be a few races like this in 2025 where the race ends just as things are getting interesting.

The crowd dont like it when team orders control drivers and interfere.
Goes way back to the Schumacher Barrichelo days or earlier.
We suspected for a long time but now they dont even hide it anymore.
McLaren and its papaya rules have just made it a farce.
They will make NOR the favourite (so no change...lol) now as he is in front.

A couple of years ago NOR dissed Checo as not as good as VER (who is) as well.

Policeman George sparking up and bossing everyone around again.
Then ends up with egg on his face and has to give the swap back.

SKY most upset at HAM penalty when we all could see he gained a few seconds.

Glad the Gold Coast V8's were interesting as least.

Crofty + the post race team showed their colours again, but I do think Karun analysed the incidents between HAM and VER - and did say that HAM was in the wrong. Credit where (small) credit is due

Move along, nothing to see here?
That was 17 years ago? What took him so long? Trying to find a pen?
Maybe Oscar will have a retroactive claim against Papaya to lodge when his grandson starts school!

And I was there. The noise in those days! Imagine if (when?) they go all EV.
Yeah. It was awesome. Only something like 17 cars finished the race. Right through the city. 35 degrees. The names of those who competed was a showcase of F1 drivers.

I think the noise is part of the experience though.

40 years ago today Adelside held the best Grand Prix.

Murray Walker's famous commentary of Mansell's tyre blowout at Australia 1986

The last Adelaide F1 race was just as I had turned 18 and was sitting my HSC exams - didn't ever get the chance to go watch, but fondly played the track on many F1 computer games. It was what Schumacher did to Hill in Adelaide that sparked my dislike of MS from that day on.

That’s not the only time Schumacher cheated. Deliberately crashing on the last corner in Quali at Monaco to secure a pole position, or crashing into Villeneuve in 97.
But he’s not alone in this single minded obsession to win at any cost. Other examples are the much lauded Senna hitting Prost at Suzuka, and Prost returning the favour the following year.

I was at that one! (Monaco quali 2006), wearing my Mark Webber / Williams shirt

, or crashing into Villeneuve in 97.
Schumacher got his 2nd place in the Championship stripped off him due to that I think? I also seem to recall that the Jerez (attempted) crash into Villeneuve was AFTER another point where Schumacher did take him off the track? I remember jumping for joy at the idea that MS tried it again and that it only took him out of the race.
