I’m searching the current Red Tail promo for fares to the US. Earlier this evening, there were Business Sale fares across multiple days. Going back to book, the Business Saver fare isn’t available anywhere, and the First Saver has gone as well. I’ve tried to find it by going incognito and on a vpn, but no luck.

What’s going on? Will it ‘reset’ at midnight!? Unlikely they’ve sold all Saver fares in 2 hours…

That finished yesterday before the sale launched - come on, QF would never let us double-dip!
Plenty of ways to double dip.
Also no such thing yet in terms of the dynamic pricing the way your probably thinking (like those ticket companies).
It's simply fare buckets with set prices and the lower fare bucket 'sold out'.
Incognito and VPN do absolutely nothing.

Thanks. I’m not buying it. There’s no way the fare bucket sold out for the 45 days after in both Business and First, it’s too suss.

Could/would QF pull the sale fare on that route?

Do you know how many seats were in that fare bucket? It s possible there was just one seat available, and a group of two grab those two seats in J / F.

Were you looking at multiple days for that route? If they all disappeared, it would be much more concerning imho.

Multiple seats in I/D/U and A/F/P across the days after, that's what makes this so strange. Surely in the space of two hours, the world didn't just wake up and decide they were going to book these fares!? 😄

Double dip in terms of a sale, genuine sale on while a DSC offers is present does not happen, no double dipping in this regard.

Qantas airways pulls a sale before and after a DSC offer, it's clockwork.

Multiple U and P? On Qantas metal? Aaahhhh that's the problem, you were hallucinating.

Ok ok I read somewhere Qantas was generous for the flights to DFW? Is that this one?

You can't expect the same number of seat sales fare each day. On the route I monitor, only one I appeared from my desired date, and up to 9 I around other days. That s just how it is.

If Qantas was doing the kind of dynamic pricing you describe, wouldn t the sales fare for the other days have diseappeared?

With so many different providers of airfares and sellers of tickets, it really wouldn't work for a legacy carrier. It would actually only work in the opposite by offering discounts to book direct through the airline and not some OTA/TA

The sale has been all over mainstream news all day. 300K seats were on sale. That’s basically Taylor Swift in Melbourne over 3 nights. Easily plausible they sold in a few hours.
