Lounging ALL the way to Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh and Danang

This has been great @Flyfrequently well done to you.
Cannot wait till we get there later this year.

And thanks for the emailed info also. I haven't looked through it yet but I am sure it'll be super helpful.

Thanks very much for this TR. I am heading fast towards my 80th birthday at the end of 2026. It was already on the plans to be in Thailand at that time but your TR puts Vietnam into the mix providing I can get TG premium awards there and back. At the moment that looks quite doable but who knows what happens in 5 months time with availability.

Thanks for your trip report. I enjoyed following along and you stayed at some very nice accommodations.
I have never been to Vietnam, so contemplating.

Glad you had a great time despite the cough. Seems to be part of the travel adventure these days. My worst dread is a coughing fit on the plane. Had one once on Emirates pre covid. I never want another one and nor would the travellers surrounding me. I did do a fast walk to the toilets which blissfully were vacant at the time.

Wednesday :
Sunrise coming in to land ...... and just like that we are home.

Arrived early, had to wait 30 minutes for our gate.
Egates worked well but bags took another 30+ minutes. From disembarking it was an hour before we stepped outside. The sun was out, a chilly 5° not much wind. Some fog on the way but in 2 hours, we are home.

Reflecting on this trip, Vietnam has so much to see as others have noted. I am glad we did what we did, particularly the War Remnants Museum and Reunification Palace.
The only thing I would have changed would have been the time of year. But due to other commitments, July this year was our window.

I think we did it wisely - for us.

No dramas, no missed connections, no major delays and importantly we enjoyed every aspect of this trip - and each other's company sans 🎸 .

I am a journey girl and appreciate slow travel, somewhat different to the experiences and expectations of others.

Using Accor ALL worked for hotel locations, amenities and cost.
Booked the flights during DSC which will have me retain WP with other travel planning to come.

I take my hat off to those who are out all day, every day and then write a TR!

I am less adventurous these days but still enjoy travelling - I do like Premium cabins and Lounges and I ticked those boxes.

My "Here's Cheers to 70 Years" celebrations have now come to a close. Think I have done rather well with Vanuatu, Staycations, the family gathering for lunch and wrapping up with Vietnam.
I did finally buy myself a souvenir.

Next journey is purely "flop, drop, rinse and repeat" in Bali for Mr Flyfrequently's birthday in September.
Thanks for coming along and the tips that were shared pre journey.

Thanks for the TR - really enjoyed reading it, as it's years since we were in Vietnam. Still longing to go back, so it's on THE LIST. Sounds like you had a really relaxing, high class holiday (apart from the cough!). We also were impressed by Vietnam Air, but the Saigon airport then was a shocker, and the Business lounge was scruffy and dirty. I was surprised you didn't venture to the night-time markets for some street food - not quite Michelin standard but an interesting experience and a bit of fun. We found Hanoi a much nicer city than HCMC.

Thanks @Joolz49

The plan was to do street food/ night markets etc but the humidity really knocked me. July clearly not the best time to travel but was our window this year.

I have a medical condition that doesn't take much to tip me over.
(Learned my lesson the hard way in Barcelona 2019. Specialist won't sign off on my travels unless I play by the rules!)

I am not "less adventurous " by choice and consider myself to be grateful to be able to travel.

As I said, we did it wisely - for us.
Hanoi is on the list!
