I just saw a 787-9 parked at a gate at SYD T3. Don't all the 787 flights between domestic AU ports happen from international terminals as part of longer onward flights?

Not all. There are a few standalone flights, often used for repositioning aircraft. These can be one offs such as QF656 or more regular such as QF428. In these cases the aircraft operate between domestic terminals.

Must have been the arriving QF428 I saw then while on the bus over from T1.
Sounds like I didn’t miss you by all that much. Made the same trip earlier this morning and noted that 787 as well. As a side note, T1 to T3 transfer was an absolute zoo when I went through!!

Was on QF60 this morning. Had around an hour in the lounge before QF1439 once I got through immigration and over to T3 on the bus.
